About Us

Forestwood is a non-profit club that has made our home at Michael A. Ries Rink since 1962. We are one of the member clubs of the Greater Cleveland Council for Figure Skating Clubs. Forestwood aims to foster a positive, welcoming environment, and connects skaters with athlete-centered, goal-oriented coaching. We offer test sessions, Learn to Skate classes, Jr. Club Ice, Club Ice, private lessons, Ice Shows, and Competitions.

Learn to Skate

At Forestwood, our Learn to Skate sessions prepare each student with the foundational skating skills they will need to participate in competitions, shows and exhibitions. Our Certified Learn to Skate Instructors will help them reach their skating goals.

Private Lessons

Once beginners pick up the fundamentals in our Learn to Skate program, they can move on to private instruction with our Home Club and Associate Professionals. Private lessons allow skaters to enhance their skills with one-on-one instruction.

Club Ice

Affordable Club Sessions are a gateway to USFSA sanctioned events such as advanced level competition, testing, shows, exhibitions, and club ice time. In 2023, we began offering Jr. Club Ice for our beginner skaters to learn how to practice independently.

Test Sessions

Since 2o21, Forestwood has enjoyed hosting consistent, affordable Virtual Test Sessions for skaters all around the U.S. Our test sessions feature a Gold and International panel. We host test sessions on the 14th and 28th of each month.

Forestwood Skating Club is sanctioned and certified by the U.S. Figure Skating Association.
